UML welcomes Mayor Balen's bid to erect Yama Buddha's statue

Vice-chairperson of CPN-UML, Bishnu Prasad Poudel has welcomed the decision of Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah to erect the statue of the late rapper Anil Adhikari aka Yama Buddha.

Paudel posted a photo of the rapper on his facebook page on Thursday and supported Mayor Balen's bid to erect Yama Buddha's statue. “The Federal Democratic Republic is a system of honoring individuals who have made outstanding contributions to society from their respective sectors. Therefore, the decision of the Kathmandu Metropolis to build a statue of the famous star of hip-hop singing genre, Yama Buddha (Anil Adhikari) born in Nepal is welcome.”


Recently, Mayor Shah announced that he would build the statue of Yama Buddha from his own salary after his decision to build it through KMC's budget courted controversy.
