UML to analyze Nepali society<br/>Poudel back as PP leader

KATHMANDU, Aug 23: A standing committee meeting of the CPN-UML on Sunday nominated party leader Keshav Badal as head of a panel to study the class structure of Nepali society. Badal will nominate other members of the panel, said a statement issued by the party.



The team will make an in-depth analysis of Nepali society, which will eventually set a guideline to the future course of the party´s policies and programs. This will define whether Nepali society is in feudal, semi-feudal or in capitalist state. So far Nepali communist parties´ have made class analysis of Nepali society on the basis of the Mao´s analysis of Chinese rural society, said UML leader Bishnu Rimal.



The UML also nominated party leader Bishnu Poudel as its deputy parliamentary party leader. He will replace Finance Minister Surendra Pandey. Pandey had earlier replaced Poudel after the latter became minister for water resources in the Maoist-led coalition government. The UML again decided to replace Pandey by Poudel as the former became minister.
