UML Sunsari Chairman Khanal passes away during treatment in India

ITAHARI, June 6:  Chairman of CPN-UML, Sunsari district chapter, Neelam Khanal has passed away during treatment in Hyderabad, India.

ITAHARI, June 6:  Chairman of CPN-UML, Sunsari district chapter, Neelam Khanal has passed away during treatment in Hyderabad, India. 


Khanal, who was suffering from pancreatic disease, was taken to India for medical care. The UML Sunsari District Secretary Ram Koirala confirmed that Khanal died during treatment.

Khanal was recently elected chairman during the eighth session held from May 18 to 20. He also served as Mayor of Baraha Kshetra municipality in the district following the 2017 election and was previously Vice Chairman of UML Sunsari district committee.


The last rites for Khanal are scheduled for June 8, with the cremation delayed to allow time for his body to be brought back from India.
