NTA Chairman Khanal resigns

KATHMANDU, Jan 9: Chairman of Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) Purushottam Khanal has resigned from his position. Khanal submitted his resignation to the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma on Tuesday.

KATHMANDU, Jan 9: Chairman of Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) Purushottam Khanal has resigned from his position. Khanal submitted his resignation to the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma on Tuesday.

The resignation comes amid his alleged involvement in corruption in connection with the procurement of the Telecommunications Traffic Monitoring and Fraud Control System (TERAMOX) case controversy. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) is currently investigating the TERAMOX case.


Khanal was appointed as NTA Chairman by the KP Oli-led government in July, 2019.
