KATHMANDU, July 18: The main opposition CPN (UML) has prepared a two-day orientation programme to the recently elected local representatives from the party.
As per the decision, the orientation programme will take place in Province No 1 on August 7 and 8, in Province No 3 on August 11 and 12, in Province No 4 on August 11 and 12, in Province No 5 on July 25 and 26, in Province No 6 on August 13 and 14 and in Province No 7 on July 22 and 23.

The party's central secretariat meeting held at the Party central office Dhumrabarahi took this decision as per the standing committee's mandate. Party general secretary Ishwar Pokharel chaired the meeting.
It is stated that the mayor, deputy mayor from the municipalities and chair and vice chair of rural municipalities will take part in the programme. Similarly, if only one either mayor/deputy mayor or chair or vice chair was elected from the party side, additional senior ward chair also could participate in the programme.
Likewise, district party chair, local body department chiefs, chiefs of local bodies from province committee, district in-charge, lawmakers from respective provinces also could participate in the programme.
According to party secretary and publicity department Chief Yogesh Bhattarai, experts and senior leaders will orientate them on financial mobilization, developmental agendas, law formulation, responsibly of political parties, among other major issues. RSS
