KATHMANDU, Oct 9: In Kathmandu- 5, there will be a contest between Nepali Congress (NC) youth leader Pradip Paudel, CPN-UML Senior Vice-chairman Ishwar Pokhrel and independent candidate Ranju Darshana.

Senior Vice Chairman of UML, Pokhrel has been regularly contesting elections from this constituency. Pokhrel, a member of the House of Representatives from the previous election, has decided to stand in the election from this constituency this time as well.

On the other hand, Paudel, a youth leader of NC, who was preparing to contest the election from Tanahun constituency 2, has been brought to Kathmandu 5. The party has decided to field him from Kathmandu 5.

Similarly, Ranju Darshana, the candidate for mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City in the previous local election, is also preparing to contest from this area. She will give her candidacy independently. Darshana got good votes in the mayoral election.
