KATHMANDU, May 22: The CPN-UML has initiated process to take action against 11 lawmakers of the dissolved parliament on charge of supporting opposition party leader to oust the party chairman K P Oli from power.
A Standing Committee meeting of the party held on Saturday decided to seek clarification from 11 lawmakers including senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal for their support to form the government led by opposition party leader Sher Bahadur Deuba. They have been asked to furnish clarification by Monday morning.
Except for senior leader Nepal, Bhim Rawal and Jhala Nath Khanal, all those sought clarifications are elected as UML lawmakers under proportional electorate system. A total of 26 UML lawmakers close to the Nepal-led faction of the UML had provided their signatures to form new government led by Nepali Congress (NC) President Deuba.
