KATHMANDU, Jan 3: The main opposition party, CPN-UML, is holding a Standing Committee meeting of the party on Tuesday after the Supreme Court (SC) declined to issue an interim order against the constitution amendment bill.
UML has been obstructing the parliament meeting arguing the bill to be unconstitutional. The party is under immense pressure after the apex court said that there is no need to issue a stay order to stop the bill from entering parliament.
Leaders said that at the meeting underway at the residence of UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli in Balkot, discussions are being made on the bill, announcement of local polls and a protest assembly slated for Friday among other political developments.
