UML dissatisfied with Minister Poudel's performance

Kathmandu, June 26: The CPN (UML) on Friday expressed reservations over Minister for Youth and Sports Purushottam Poudel's performance in the government.

Minister Poudel, who took up his current ministerial portfolio from the party, is accused of flouting party's policy and directives. The Minister on Thursday appointed Keshav Bista as the Member-Secretary at the National Sports Council, but did not consult party.

UML Central Office Secretary Krishna Gopal Shrestha said it was wrong for any ministers representing the UML in the government to take self-willed step and indulge in political appointments.

Speaking to the National News Agency (RSS), Shrestha said the party was not satisfied with Minister Poudel for what he had done.

The party has pressured Minister Poudel to either backtrack from his decision or tender resignation, it is learnt. RSS
