UML deputy-mayor candidate found not registered

UDAYAPUR, June 18: CPN-UML candidate for the deputy-mayor position in Triyuga Municipality, Udayapur, Sirjana Danuwar could not file her nomination as she was found not registered in the voters' list.

UDAYAPUR, June 18: CPN-UML candidate for the deputy-mayor position in Triyuga Municipality, Udayapur, Sirjana Danuwar could not file her nomination as she was found not registered in the voters' list.


Earlier, Danuwar was declared as the candidate for deputy-mayor and she had conducted election campaigns for at least past 10 days.

After Danuwar turned out to be not eligible for candidacy, UML declared Geeta Regmi as its candidate for deputy mayor. Party's municipal committee had recommended Danuwar, Maheshwari Rai and Regmi for the position of deputy-mayor and the party's provincial committee had picked Danuwar as the candidate.


The second phase of local level elections is scheduled for June 28 in Province 1, 5 and 7 and candidates are filing their candidacies on Sunday.
