KATHMANDU, Jan 4:  Madhav Nepal, chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist), has expressed his displeasure over the idea of allocating seats to the UML in the National Assembly. KP Sharma Oli, chairman of the main opposition party CPN-UML, proposed a partnership with the alliance in the National Assembly to finalize the TRC Bill.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Chairman Upendra Yadav and CPN (Unified Socialist) Party Chairman Madhav Nepal had a discussion on this issue on Thursday morning at the Prime Minister's Residence in Baluwatar.

The discussion could not be concluded after the CPN (Unified Socialist) expressed dissatisfaction. The meeting will be held again this evening, said NC Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak.

"The discussion was about the issue of the National Assembly. We have concluded today's discussion to hold a meeting in the evening or tomorrow morning," said Lekhak.

Elections are being held for 19 vacant posts in the National Assembly on January 25. It is seen that the UML, which was the biggest party with 30 seats when it was part of the CPN, will not win even one seat this time. If this happens, the UML will have to become the third party with 9 seats in the National Assembly. So, Oli has asked the ruling coalition to allocate some seats for the UML as well.

It is said that the UML has demanded six seats from the alliance. The ruling coalition has said that it will hold a meeting with Oli again after discussing the UML's proposal further. There is a schedule for the nomination of candidates for the National Assembly elections on January 8.
