KATHMANDU, Nov 10: The CPN-UML has called a meeting of former lawmakers of the dissolved House of Representatives (HoR) as part of efforts to press for the reinstatement of the lower house.
Former Chief Whip of the UML, Mahesh Bartaula, said the meeting has been convened to decide on a course of action regarding the reinstatement of the House. “We have called the lawmakers to discuss the current unusual and complex political situation and the role we must play to ensure a democratic and constitutional resolution,” he stated.

The meeting is scheduled for 17 December in Chyasal. Earlier, the UML had quietly collected signatures from former lawmakers. Following this signature campaign, the party is preparing to approach the Supreme Court, filing a supplementary petition demanding the reinstatement of the House.
