KATHMANDU, April 21: As the last-ditch effort to settle the intra-party row, CPN-UML Chairman K P Oli and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal have held a meeting on Wednesday. The meeting being held at a hotel in Kathmandu is also attended by Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel.

The meeting between the two senior UML leaders was held shortly after an influential youth leader belonging to the Nepal-led faction in the party, Yogesh Bhattarai, suggested Oli sit for talks with Nepal and save the party unity. Bhattarai had held a meeting with Prime Minister Oli at Baluwatar earlier on Wednesday.

Many within the party believe that the meeting between Oli and Nepal could serve to break the ice between the two leaders. The two leaders had not spoken with each other after Chairman Oli took a unilateral decision to appoint former Maoist Center leaders as the party's central members and stripped off party responsibility of all leaders close to the Nepal-led faction.
