UML candidate GC elected mayor in Pokhara

POKHARA, May 26 Man Bahadur GC of CPN-UML has been elected mayor of Pokhara-Lekhnath Municipality in Kaski district while UML's Manju Gurung became deputy-mayor with huge margin victories.

POKHARA, May 26 Man Bahadur GC of CPN-UML has been elected mayor of Pokhara-Lekhnath Municipality in Kaski district while UML's Manju Gurung became deputy-mayor with huge margin victories.


GC received 60118 votes while his nearest rival Ramjee Kunwar of Nepali Congress garnered only 46416 votes.

GC was born in the then Kalika VDC of Kaski on September 1, 1960 and he had started his political career 37 years. Starting his political career from Village Committee, GC has now reached to the central committee of UML. He is alternative central committee member of the party now. He had also served as the elected chairman of the Kalika VDC earlier.


Likewise, Manju Gurung got 56448 votes while her nearest rival Saraswati Gurung of NC received only 44338 votes.
