This is his first overseas visit since he was appointed Minister for International Development following the recently held elections, said a statement by the UK´s Department for International Development (DFID).
"The Minister will familiarize himself with the UK´s development programs in Nepal. He will also lend the new UK government´s support to Nepal´s peace process," DFID said.
The British minister is due to meet Prime Minister Madhav Nepal, Deputy Prime Minister Sujata Koirala and Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal. He will also interact with Constituent Assembly members.
Minister Duncan is scheduled to visit several DFID-supported programs in Bhojpur and Biratnagar to take stock of development UK-funded programs and their impacts at community level.
