KATHMANDU, June 26: The United Kingdom (UK) has called on all stakeholders to create necessary conditions to allow the people of Provinces 1, 5 and 7 to exercise their right to vote, peacefully, in Nepal‘s second round of local elections on 28 June.
“We urge the security forces to exercise restraint and comply with existing national international standards while discharging their duties,” said the UK in a statement issued on Monday.
Meanwhile, it has urged all parties to create conditions for peaceful, inclusive, broadly-supported and credible local elections in Province 2 to complete the local election process.
“We will remain committed to work with all stakeholders for a peaceful, inclusive, broadly-supported and credible election process,” the UK said in the statement.
