KATHMANDU, June 19: UK's ambassador to Nepal, Nicola Pollitt, paid a farewell call on Minister for Health and Population, Mohan Bahadur Basnet on Monday.
During the meeting held at the latter's office, the two exchanged views on cooperation and collaborations between the two countries in the health sector. The minister urged for ensuring the continuity of the UK's assistance to Nepal's health sector.
Japanese Ambassador calls on Minister Basnet
The two also discussed the matters related to sending of the nursing force from Nepal to the UK.
"The ambassador is leaving for home soon upon the completion of her term. In today's meeting, we discussed three major issues. Those issues include safe and systematic migration of Nepal's nursing force in the UK, better medical provisions for the Gurkha British soldiers and the implementation of UK-assisted new programmes in the health sector," the minister said.
