KATHMANDU, Jan 5: United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) on Tuesday named its representatives to join others from major political parties on a joint task force to be formed to sort out the differences over various provisions in the constitution.

The major three political parties had proposed on Sunday to form a joint task force to do necessary homework for result-oriented talks with the agitating Madhes-based political parties.

The UDMF had sought time to discuss the proposal among the coalition partners. A meeting of the agitating parties held at Bijulibazar, Kathmandu on Tuesday decided to name their representatives for the task force.

Vice-chairman of Tarai Madhes Democratic Party Hridayesh Tripathi, Federal Socialist Forum Nepal Co-chairman Rajendra Shrestha and Tarai-Madhes Sadbhavana Party leader Ram Naresh Raya have been recommended to represent the UDMF on the task force. Meanwhile, Sadbhavana Party has not named its representative for the task force.

CPN-UML Vice Chairman and Deputy Prime Minister Bhim Rawal, Nepali Congress leader Mahesh Acharya and UCPN (Maoist) leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara have already been named by their respective parties the task force.

"We will sit for the homework once the three parties respond to our 11 point demands," said Co-chairman Shrestha of the agitating FSFN.

Similarly, Prime Minister K P Oli called TMLP Chairman Mahantha Thakur on Tuesday and urged him for an early solution to the crisis.
