UDMF leaders have also demanded resignation of Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal to pave the way for the formation of national consensus government.
Addressing a mass rally in Biratnagar, Nepal Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato said the constitution could not be written on time due to Maoist´s insistence on drafting a pro-people constitution and the failure to forge national consensus.
Speaking at the same function, Tarai Madhes Democratic Party Chairman Mahanta Thakur said extension of the CA term would be unacceptable to them unless there are concrete progress in constitution writing and peace process.
He also expressed dissatisfaction over the government´s move to register the bill on CA term extension at the parliament secretariat without consulting his party.
Meanwhile, MPRF-D Chairman Bijay Kumar Gachachhadar said they may support the 10-point condition floated by the Nepali Congress for CA term extension. “We may support NC´s proposal if it works in favor of peace and constitution,” he added.
