LAHAN, Oct 24: The United Madhesi Democratic Front (UDMF) cadres today vandalized a journalist's motorbike in stark contrast to its earlier commitment not to obstruct press, human rights activists, ambulance service and fire engines.
The Front cadres vandalized a motorbike this morning at 'Sahid Ramesh Mahato Chowk' in Lahan, Siraha belonging to journalist Feroj Sheikh, who is affiliated with local 'Saugat FM' and madhesspecial.com.

The motorbike (Sa 6 Pa 8) was vandalized while Sheikh was in course of news collection. "They attacked the motorbike forcibly although I said I was a journalist," Sheikh said adding, "The local leadership of the Front gave an assurance to repair the bike after the vandalism."
The Front cadres had been announcing through loudspeakers since the early morning warning they would not let a single bike ply the road. The Front also vandalized two other motorbikes with number plates Ba 67 Pa 7242 and Ba 61 Pa 1450.
Police arrest three people
Meanwhile, police have arrested three persons in possession of a revolver and pistol during a random checking on motorbikes.
The police team headed by DSP Shiva Narayan Yadav at the District Police Office, Siraha, arrested them near the Durga Temple at Siraha Municipality-1 at 8:00 pm on Friday night during a regular patrol.
Those arrested have been identified as Santosh Kumar Mukhiya, 18, of Siraha Municipality-7, Ram Yadav, 17, and Mohammad Toheed known as Afaroj. RSS
