BIRATNAGAR, July 6: Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party (PP) leader Uddhav Thapa has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Koshi Province.
Koshi Province Governor Parshu Ram Khapung appointed Thapa, who staked claim for the post of Chief Minister earlier on Thursday, as new chief of Koshi provincial government. Thapa claimed that he had the support of 47 members of the Provincial Assembly.

Thapa submitted a claim saying that he has the support of 29 provincial assembly members of his party, NC, 12 members of the CPN (Maoist center), four members of CPN (Unified Socialist), one member of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) and Speaker Baburam Gautam.
