All eight cricket regions will participate in the tournament. The teams are divided into two groups and the winners of each group after a league round will play the final.[break]
Interestingly, there will be no semifinals. Region No 2 Birgunj, Region No 3 Kathmandu, Region No 6 Baitadi and Region No 7 Janakpur are placed in Group A while Region No 4 Bhairahawa, Region No 5 Nepalgunj, Region No 1 Biratnagar and Region No 8 Pokhara are placed in Group B. Host Kathmandu will take on Baitadi in the inaugural match at TU Cricket Ground Friday.
Bhairahawa will play Biratnagar at IOE Ground on the opening day. The CAN has formed an eight-member organizing committee led by CAN executive member Kiran Rana.
