U-21 South Asian Badminton C’ship to start today

KATHMANDU, Nov 27: The second U-21 South Asian Regional Badminton Championship is scheduled to start on Tuesday. The championship, which runs until December 2, will be held at the Armed Police Force (APF)’s Covered Hall in Halchowk.

KATHMANDU, Nov 27: The second U-21 South Asian Regional Badminton Championship is scheduled to start on Tuesday. The championship, which runs until December 2, will be held at the Armed Police Force (APF)’s Covered Hall in Halchowk.  India, Bangladesh, Maldives, Sri Lanka and the Nepal, will participate in the championship, said Nabin Bikram Shah, secretary of the Nepal Badminton Association (NBA). A total of eight players—four men and women—will take part in the championship from Nepal, while three men and three women players will participate from other nations. The players will contest in men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, mixed doubles and mixed team event. The first edition of the championship was held in Guwahati, India, where Nepal won a silver medal in mixed event, and bronze in men’s doubles.
