Two-way traffic resumes on Mugling-Narayanghat road section

CHITWAN, Aug 22: The Mugling-Narayanghat road section, which was blocked by landslides, has come into full operation after 17 hours. The landslide that occurred near Namsi bridge located in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-6 around 8:00PM on Monday night had blocked the road . The debris was cleared and the traffic was resumed from around 1:00PM on Tuesday.

CHITWAN, Aug 22: The Mugling-Narayanghat road section, which was blocked by landslides, has come into full operation after 17 hours. The landslide that occurred near Namsi bridge located in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-6 around 8:00PM on Monday night had blocked the road . The debris was cleared and the traffic was resumed from around 1:00PM on Tuesday.


Engineer Chandeshwar Sah informed Republica that four excavators were used continuously to remove the debris. “We have been working nonstop since last night around 10 o'clock to remove the landslide debris. After extensive efforts, vehicles are now able to move in both directions,” he said.

The vehicles that had been halted due to the landslide are now able to proceed toward their destinations. Vehicles and passengers on the way to their destinations were stopped on the way all night. As there is a long line of vehicles on the highway, District Traffic Police Office, Chitwan has requested everyone to travel using their respective lanes for a smoother flow of traffic.
