KATHMANDU, Oct 7: Chief Minister of Province 2 Lal Babu Raut has received a vote of confidence in the Provincial Assembly. A total of 77 lawmakers voted in favor of Raut, while 23 voted against. One hundred Provincial Assembly members were present at the Provincial Assembly session on Wednesday.
77 votes were cast in favor of Raut in the proposal submitted by Chief Minister Raut for a vote of confidence in the Provincial Assembly in accordance with Article 188, Clause 2 of the Constitution.
Province 5 CM secures two-thirds majority in vote of confidence
There are 104 members of parliament in Province 2. The Raut-led government has the support of 39 members of the Janata Samajbadi Party, 19 members of the Nepali Congress, eight members of the Maoist Center, 13 members of the CPN (Unified Socialist) and one member of the Nepal Federal Socialist Party.
