Two students killed in Kaski road accident

POKHARA, June 25: Two school students were killed when a passenger bus (Na 3 Kha 5996) heading to Baglung from Pokhara hit their motorcycle (Ga 4 Pa 140) at Hemja-4, Milanchowk, in Kaski, on Thursday afternoon. The accident occurred at around 4:30 p.m. when the two were returning home from school.



According to DSP Tulsi Adhikari, the deceased are 16-year-olds Sagar Sapkota and Bishnu Timalsina of Hemja. Both of them died soon after reaching Western Regional Hospital, Police Inspector Heramba Sharma said.



Both were ninth graders. Timalsina was studying in Dhaulagiri Boarding School and Sapkota in Gaurishankar Higher Secondary School.



Irate locals torched the bus after the accident. The bus had been completely damaged before the fire engine from Pokhara could arrive at the scene. Locals also obstructed the Pokhara-Baglung Highway, demanding action against the guilty and compensation to the victims´ families.



The bus driver had immediately fled the scene and surrendered to the District Police Office. The police said they have started action against him.
