KATHMANDU, August 28: A clash broke out on Sunday when a group of students tried to disrupt a press conference organized by Tribhuvan University administration.
The university administration held a press conference. At the same time, Nepal Student Union (NSU) was demonstrating with demands such as the resignation of the vice-chancellor, the publication of the inquiry committee's report on the question papers leak incident.
When All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) tried to interfere in the said demonstration, stones were pelted between the two student union groups. A police inspector and two leaders of the NSU were injured in the stone pelting.
The NSU had padlocked various offices of the university since July 11, stating that the officials of the university had been negligent in the question papers of the university. The administration of the university held a press conference to give information regarding the incident.
TU had earlier appealed to the Ministry of Home Affairs to arrange a reliable security system in its premises.
