They are identified as Ram Prasad Mukhiya of Saarshwor VDC-1 and Bhuwan Yadav of Bishnupur Prarachar VDC.[break]
They were arrested following mobilization of police after an unidentified group entered in the VDC and vandalized and set fires some houses at the Saarshwor VDC.
Two dozen people were injured when the police tried to take the situation under control. Police had fired 31 rounds in the air and lobbed 33 tear gas canisters to bring the situation under control.
The local administration had clamped curfew in the area till 4:30 this morning to contain violence.
Though, the curfew was lifted now , a large number of personnel from the Nepal Police and the Armed Police force are still being deployed in the area to prevent any further violence.
According to police, clashes had taken place after three Muslim youths teased Hindu women from Dhanusha, who were heading for Shiva temple in Sarshwor-1, a few days ago.
Police claimed that though an all-party meeting was being held to resolve the dispute between two local communities but an external group had tried to incite communal violence.
