ROLPA, Aug. 13: Two people died, and two others were injured after a landslide triggered by incessant rainfall buried a house and a cattle shed in Botlabara, Thabang Rural Municipality-5, Rolpa.
According to the District Police Office (DPO), Rolpa, the deceased have been identified as 18-year-old Shanti Pun Magar and 60-year-old Kamal Bahadur Pun Magar, both from Thabang-5.
One dies as landslide buries shed in Arghakhanchi
The injured are 22-year-old Himal Pun Magar and 25-year-old Sanjay Gharti Magar, also from the same locality. Both are reportedly in critical condition.
The landslide occurred after continuous rainfall that began on Wednesday afternoon, burying the house and cattle shed, police said.
A police team reached the site last night. With assistance from residents, police rescued the injured and transported them to a health facility for treatment.
According to the police's preliminary assessment, six houses and cattle sheds have been damaged by landslides in the area.
Further details of the incident are awaited, the DPO said.
