Two killed in separate motorcycle accidents

Two people died in separate motorcycle accidents reported on Tuesday night and Wednesday, police said.

KATHMANDU, Dec 17: Two people died in separate motorcycle accidents reported on Tuesday night and Wednesday, police said.



In Bhaktapur, a motorcycle heading from Bhaktapur to Kathmandu lost control and crashed at Chardobato in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality–4 on Tuesday night. The motorcycle, bearing registration number Province 03-02-013 P 6513, went out of control on its own, according to police.

The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Bijay Kharbuja of Itachhen, Bhaktapur Municipality–2. He was critically injured in the accident and died while undergoing treatment at Madhyapur Hospital.


In a separate incident in Mahottari, 60-year-old Parbati Devi Mahato of Matihani Municipality–3 died after falling from a motorcycle in Matihani Municipality–8. She was seriously injured and died on the way to Janakpur for treatment.


Police have taken the motorcycle rider involved in the Mahottari incident into custody for further investigation.
