Bed Nath Dhungana, 48, was electrocuted to death around 6 am on Thursday at Patihani-1 of Chitwan. Dhungana mistakenly caught an electric wire while he had gone to toilet, police said. [break]
He died on his way to treatment to Bharatpur.
Meanwhile, an elderly woman died when she was hit by a taxi on Wednesday night. Phul Maya Pariyar, 65, of Bharatpur-9 died while she was being taken to Bharatpur Medical College, Chitwan Police said.
Police said the driver is absconding with his taxi.
Local obstructed the East West Highway following the incident demanding proper compensation to the deceased family and stern action against the culprit.
Vehicular movement resumed at around 2 on Thursday morning after the local administration assured to fulfill the demands.
