INARUWA, Oct 7: Two persons were killed in a road accident that took place at Lions Club Chowk of Itahari Sub-metropolis-16 in Sunsari district last night.
The deceased have been identified as Sushant Bhattarai, 25, of Inaruwa-2 and Bibhishan BK, 20, of Chichila-2, Sankhuwasabha, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Narendra Kumar Karki. Both were seriously injured when the scooter (Ko 20 Pa 6747) they were travelling on the East-West Highway was hit by a truck (Na 6 Kha 5681) coming from the opposite direction. Both died on the way to hospital, police said.

The truck has been impounded and its driver Arjun Giri, 31, of Hetauda Sub-Metropolis-9, Makwanpur has been taken to police custody, said DSP Karki.
