Two killed in Dadeldhura fire incident

DADELDHURA, Feb 5: Two women were killed due to suffocation while seeking warmth beside a fire in Amargadhi-1 last night. They are learnt to be the mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law.

The two women, who slept in the same room, had burnt fire to escape from the cold. It is suspected that they died due to asphyxiation from the coal from the burning fire. 

According to Kusum Nayak, the Information Officer at the District Police Office, Dadeldhura, the deceased have been identified as Dhauli Devi Diyal, 60, and her daughter-in-law Punam Diyal, 26, of Malam, Amargadhi Municipality-1.

The two women, who were found unconscious, were taken to hospital this morning with the help of their family and relatives. Doctors pronounced them dead upon arrival. Police said further investigation is underway in this connection.
