KATHMANDU, Feb 14: Police have arrested two people from Parsa for their alleged involvement in human trafficking.
Subash Bhatta, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and spokesperson for the District Police Office (DPO), Parsa said that a police team dispatched from the office conducted an inspection of hotels operating in the area of Birgunj Metropolitan City-15, Parsa District and arrested the duo on Friday.

DSP Bhatta said, “During the inspection, at around 3 pm, two people were arrested for tempting girls with lucrative jobs and engaging them in prostitution with customers arriving at a hotel. The police also rescued two women from Hotel Smart and two women from New Shanti Sainik Hotel, who were exploited in such a manner.”
The DPO is currently conducting further investigation against them in accordance with the Human Trafficking and Smuggling (Control) Act, 2064 BS.
