Two including repeated drug offender arrested with narcotics in capital

According to the District Police Range (DPR), Kathmandu, a police team deployed from Police Station, Kuleshwor, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14, received information that drugs were being sold, distributed and transported.

KATHMANDU, June 16: Police have arrested two people including a repeated drug smuggling offender with drugs in a car with an Indian number plate from the capital.


According to the District Police Range (DPR), Kathmandu, a police team deployed from Police Station, Kuleshwor, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14, received information that drugs were being sold, distributed and transported. 


While checking an Indian car with the number plate UP 78 CB 9835, which was stopped under suspicious circumstances near a fruit market, the police team found the drugs and other paraphernalia hidden inside the empty cylinder in the door of the car and in the trunk.

The DPR has stated that Raju Mijar, 26, of Panchakanya Rural Municipality-2, currently residing in Balkhu, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14, and Meena Magar, 24, of Balkhu have been arrested.


Police records show that previous cases had been filed against Mijar by the Narcotics Control Bureau, 


by the Police Circle Jagati, Bhaktapur, and by the Police Circle, Thankot, for previous drug offenses.


According to the DPR, the police team seized 8290 files of banned narcotic Tramadol, totaling 82,900 capsules, two mobile phones of various companies, one Oxygen cylinder, and cash totaling Rs 65,000. Police have also impounded the Indian vehicle.
