Two girls intercepted in border

ILAM, Sept 3: Police have intercepted five people including two girls on the suspicion of trafficking.

The two girls accompanied by three men were heading towards neihbouring India when a team of police stopped them on Wednesday.


The girls from Ilam were handed over to local Maiti Nepal while the youths from Paanchthar and Ilam are at the Area Police Office, Pashupatinagar, police inspector Padam Thapaliya said. The girls will be handed over to their respective families.

Since August 18, the border police have already intercepted and returned 19 girls heading across the border while five men were arrested on the charge of trafficking women. One women and two men were found working as agents for human traffickers, according to Hom Dhakal of Maiti Nepal Pashupatinagar. RSS
