The dead have been identified as Ishu Khatri, 15, of Deupur VDC-1 and Kamala Hamal, 18, of ward no 9 of the VDC. [break]
“They were digging the soil in a pit and were buried after the mound above them fell,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police, Shyam Krishna Adhikari. Khatri was a ninth grader at Jananetra Higher Secondary School while Hamal was a bachelor´s level student of Gupteshwar Multiple Campus, Kushma.
The two girls had died while they were being taken to the hospital.
Another girl Bishnu Hamal, who was also digging the clay at the site narrowly escaped the accident.
