Around five unidentified men stormed into Krishna Prasad Tiwari´s house late Sunday night and kidnapped his daughters Namuna, 8, and Nabina, 6, after he failed to give them money.[break]
“I was cooking noodles,” Tiwari said. “They forcibly entered my house, and demanded Rs 100,000. They snatched away my two daughters after I told them I could not give them the money right then.”
Tiwari said he was forced to eat some intoxicating substance by the kidnappers. According to the police, Tiwari too was abducted by the gang but later left him near Modi Khola Bridge, some 400 meters from his house, after he could not walk due to the effect of intoxicating substance.
“Prima facie the case itself seems mysterious,” Police DSP Surendra Bahadur Gurung said. “The abductors do not seem to be professional criminals as they did not ask for a huge amount of money. The abductors may be some acquaintances of Tiwari.”
Tiwari said nobody has called him for ransom till Monday evening. Tiwari´s wife Radhika works in Israel. Tiwari himself had returned from Iraq a few months ago. Although Tiwari has three daughters, the third one, Namrata, was out of home when the abduction took place. Namuna is an eighth grader at Rashtriya Bal Siksha Sadan School in Kushma of Parbat and Nabina is a student of first grade.
