The incident took place on Monday afternoon.
According to police, 22-year-old Raju Rai who was swimming in the main irrigation canal of the Kankai River near his house after playing Holi had gone missing.
His body was found at Satashidham-7, one kilometer downstream from the place he was swimming.
Meanwhile, a person died after a motorcycle hit him on the road at Bairihawa, Ramgram Municipality of Nawalparasi district on Monday evening.
Manasur Ali Dhoniya, 65, was seriously injured after a motorcycle with Indian registration number UP 55 J 5554 hit him.
Dhoniya died at Bhairahawa Medical College while undergoing treatment, according to police.
