PATHARI, July 11: Two deer were found dead at Pathari Sanischare of Morang district on Monday.
The fawn and pregnant deer died after a vehicle hit them at Pathari Shanischare municipality-10 along the East-West highway. The deer were in protection of Pashupati Community Forest for the past 11 months, said Chief of Sub-Division Forest Office, Pathari Shanischare, Diwas Kumar Chaudhary.

Further investigation into the incident was underway, he added. Six deer were killed in five different incidents that occurred within a month. Of them, five died in road accidents and one due to poaching.
Over speeding vehicles in forest area, lack of awareness to drivers regarding wildlife are some of the reasons behind the increasing number of wildlife-related incidents, said Chief of Area Police office, Pathari, Yogendra Singh Khadka.
