LALITPUR, Dec 25: Two people died when a Tata Sumo hit pedestrians trying to cross the road at Gwarko, Lalitpur on Thursday.

The vehicle with the number number Province-3-001 cha 0713 hit two people near the pedestrian bridge on Thursday night. The deceased were employees at the B&B Hospital. According to DSP Mitra Bandhu Sharma who is also the chief of Metropolitan Police Circle, Satdobato, the accident occurred while the vehicle was heading towards Gwarko from Satdobato. “They were trying to cross the road,” he said.


The deceased have been identified as 34-year old Sunita Soti Sapkota and 46-year old Krishna Prasad Timilsina. Police have arrested Min Bahadur Tamang who was driving the vehicle.
