Stack of bills stalled in National Assembly
The HoR meeting on Thursday passed the two bills and sent it to the National Assembly. The budget would be passed from the federal parliament once the upper house approves these two bills. The National Assembly passed the Appropriation Bill-2078 on Thursday.
During the meeting today, Upper House Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina read out the letter received from the Office of the President regarding certification of the Appropriation Bill-2078.
NA Chair Timilsina allowed lawmaker Khimlal Bhattarai to speak after lawmakers of the main opposition party CPN (UML) started protesting and Bhattarai urged the National Assembly Chair not to proceed with house business as they are still in protest as usual.
