Two arrested with banned Indian currency notes

BIRATNAGAR, July 27: Two persons carrying banned Indian currency notes of 500 denomination have been arrested by a team from the Border Security Office of Armed Police Force (APF), Morang, on Thursday night.



Chandra Man Rai, 19, of Panchthar and Surendra Rai, 22, of Mahamai-9 of Ilam have been arrested during regular security check by the team led by APF assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Ram Kumar Adhikari.



Police recovered 500 notes of Rs 500 denomination and 700 notes of Rs 100 denomination from them along with Rs 3, 20,000 in Indian currency which they were carrying in a small bag.



Police are sending the duo to the Inland Revenue Office in Kathmandu for further investigation, informed superintendent of police (SP) Raghav Singh Thapa, chief of the BSO, Biratnagar.
