KATHMANDU, Feb 28: Ananda Pandey of Laboratory School bagged two gold medals on Tuesday in the 22nd Inter-school Special Sports Meet.
He won gold in boys' 50 meter race and softball throw for blind category in the opening day of the competition hosted by National Sports Council (NSC).
Nischal Siwakoti of the same school and Kiran Panta of Narayani Higher Secondary School claimed silver and bronze respectively in the 50-meter event. Similarly, Amardip Rai of Shree Purwanchal Gyanchakshu School of Dharan and Dinesh Lal Shrestha of Jana Jagriti Higher Secondary School, Dhading won silver and bronze medals in the softball throw events respectively.
Similarly Rupa Tamang of Namuna Machhindra Secondary School became champion in the girls 50-meter race for blind while Dauparda Sahakarya of Mangal Prasad Higher Secondary School, Nepalgunj and Sanita Bhattarai of Labrotary School clamed bronze and silver medals respectively.
Likewise in the boys' 100 meter race for partially blind, Bishal BK of Gyanodaya Higher Secondary School, Myagdi bagged gold while silver and bronze medals of the event went to Pasang Lama of Kavre and Yam Jung Bista of Mangal Prasad Higher Secondary School, Nepalgunj respectively.
Sapana Chaudhary of Mangal Prasad Higher Secondary School, Nepalgunj became champion in the girls' softball throw for partially blind while Barma Budha of Labrotary School, Kirtipur and Niruta Shrestha of Namuna Machindra Secondary School remained in the second and third places respectively.
The sports meet features 288 players in the events of blind, deaf and physical disability who will compete for 38 gold, 38 silver and 38 bronze medals. The top three players also will receive cash prizes of Rs 1500, 1000 and 500 respectively.
