KATHMANDU, Aug 1: Kamimura Yoshiharu, Head of the Department of Japanese Language at the Campus of International Languages, has been honored with the Foreign Minister’s Commendation for FY 2024 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
According to a press statement from Tribhuvan University, Kamimura has a 20-year tenure as the department head, during which he has taught Japanese language, culture, history, and literature. His extensive contributions also include serving as an advisor to the Japanese Language Teachers Association, Nepal (JALTAN), where he has overseen significant cultural activities such as the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), Japanese speech contests, and karaoke contests.

The university has noted Kamimura’s involvement with the management committee of the Japanese supplementary school in Kathmandu, which has improved educational opportunities for Japanese children in Nepal.
Kamimura is dedicated to enhancing Japanese culture and fostering mutual understanding between Japan and Nepal. The Foreign Minister’s Commendation acknowledges his outstanding achievements and commitment to strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
