TU and Tel Aviv University sign MoU to promote cooperation in various fields

KATHMANDU, August 20: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Tribhuvan University (Nepal) and Tel Aviv University (Israel) in order to further strengthen cooperation between Nepal and Israel in the field of education, culture, technology, science and environment.

KATHMANDU, August 20: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Tribhuvan University (Nepal) and Tel Aviv University (Israel) in order to further strengthen cooperation between Nepal and Israel in the field of education, culture, technology, science and environment. 


While TU Rector Prof Dr Shiva Lal Bhusal signed the MoU on behalf of TU, Vice President Prof Milette Shamir signed the MoU on behalf of Tel Aviv University. They virtually signed the MoU. The Institute of Engineering in Pulchowk under TU and the Department of Disaster Management at Tel Aviv University have also signed a similar MoU to enhance cooperation between the two universities.

The program organized jointly by Director of Asia Engagement, Tel Aviv University, Emma Afterman and Chairman of Israel-Nepal Friendship Association Nadav Ben Yehuda was attended physically by Ambassador of Nepal to Israel Dr Anjan Shakya, Vice President of Tel Aviv University Prof Milette Shamir, and chief of Disaster Management Department Dr Bruria. Similarly,  vice-chancellor of Tribhuvan University, Dr Dharma Kanta Baskota, Ambassador of Israel to Nepal Hanan Goder and TU Rector Dr Shiva Lal Bhusal, among others, participated in the program virtually from Nepal.


Addressing the function, Nepali Ambassador to Israel, Dr Anjan Shakya expressed happiness that the cordial relations that have existed between the two countries over six decades have further expanded with the new arrangement of cooperation in the field of science, technology and research. There has been an agreement to start an exchange program of professors, researchers, faculties and students between the two universities in the days ahead as per the MoU.
