Truck transporting LPG cylinders crashes, killing man on scooter

CHITWAN May 21: A man on a scooter died after colliding with a truck transporting LPG cylinders.  


The truck (Na 4 Kha 6674), was transporting gas cylinders from Tandi to Bharatpur when it hit the deceased’s scooter (Province 3 002 Pa 7688), on the highway in the Tikauli forest area of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-12. There is one other person in critical condition.

The deceased is 20-year-old Sagar Tamang of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-11. Tamang was critically injured and died while undergoing treatment. The Chitwan District Police Office shared that the doctors declared him dead at 12:30 PM. Police said that 20-year-old Vishant Dhakal of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-11, who was riding pillion, is in serious condition. 


He is currently at Bharatpur Hospital. The cause of the accident is unknown. The truck is lying on the roadside. The truck driver, 50-year-old Dhak Bahadur Gurung from Tanahun, is under police custody. Police said that an investigation into the incident is underway.
