Truck-hit kills two

POKHARA, June 25: Two persons died when a truck (Na 3 Kha 3019) heading to Pokhara from Mugling hit their motorcycle (Ba 3 Pa 8207) traveling in the same direction at Bandipur-8, Yampaphant in Tanahun along the Prithvi Highway on Thursday afternoon.



The deceased are 8-year-old Amit Alemagar and Hem Bahadur Alemagar of Shivanagar-2, Chitwan, the police said. Hem Bahadur died on the spot while Amrit breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Laxmi Hospital in Dumre.



According to the police, the truck hit the motorcycle while the latter was attempting to overtake it. Locals have obstructed Dumre-Anbukhaireni road after the accident at around 2.30 p.m, leaving vehicles heading to and from Pokhara stranded on the Prithvi Highway.
