RATNANAGAR (Chitwan), July 25: A truck carrying medicines was torched at Ratnanagar of Chitwan on Monday morning.
An unidentified group set the truck ablaze at Nipani intersection at around 1:30 am today. The truck's front part has burned down while some medicines have been destroyed, District Police Office, Chitwan said.
The group torched the Kathmandu-bound truck with registration number plate, Na 5 Kha 7432, said Chitwan's Superintendent of Police (SP), Basanta Kunwar. The truck was transporting supplies from Birgunj.
The police have launched necessary investigation into the incident. As the police reached the site on time further damages were avoided.
The police have started escorting the vehicles heading to their destinations from the distric.
The vehicles coming toward Chitwan and heading outside are being provided police escort, SP Kunwar confirmed. RSS
