Transport strike in Koshi hills

DHANKUTA, Nov 25: Vehicles did not operate in the hilly areas of Koshi zone on Tuesday, owing to a strike called by transport workers over a dispute with the police.



A week ago, Nagendra Khadka, a taxi driver was beaten up by one Bindra Limbu while Khadka was taking passengers from Hile to Tumlingtar of Sankhuwasabha. After the incident, taxi drivers thrashed Limbu.



Police thereafter arrested five taxi drivers. The transport workers called the strike, demanding that the taxi drivers be released.
